Currently specializing in white and rosé wines – Pinot Gris, Viognier, and a selection of rosé and sparkling wines – they are preparing to release their first red wines this year. The winery is situated on the picturesque Paewhenua Island, boasting a north-facing vantage point overlooking Mangonui Harbour and extending to Doubtless Bay. Known for its personalized service, with Kim Gilkinson often hosting tastings, the Dancing Petrel provides an intimate and memorable wine-tasting experience. Guests consistently praise the quality of their wines, particularly the Pinot Gris, Rosé, and sparkling wines, with some considering their 'Sparkles' to rival established French champagne brands.
