Hengchun West Gate is a remnant of the original fortified town of Hengchun, built during the Qing Dynasty. The gate, though relatively small and narrow, served as one of four entrances to the walled settlement. Today, it stands as a historical marker, allowing visitors to connect with the area's past. While not a major attraction in itself, it's a convenient landmark and photo opportunity for those already in Hengchun.
