The Szent Péter-Pál Church in Szentendre holds a unique place in the town's history. Originally constructed as an Eastern Orthodox church for Serbian and Slavic settlers in the 17th century, it was consecrated in 1796 and built upon the foundations of an earlier wooden structure. In 1938, it transitioned into the largest Catholic church in Szentendre. While the exterior retains its Baroque style, the interior has been significantly modernized, featuring contemporary Stations of the Cross and a modern organ. The church houses beautiful paintings, and remnants of its Orthodox past are preserved in the Orthodox Bishopric Museum, while the original iconostasis was relocated to Prizren.
