Honiara Botanical Gardens

Honiara Botanical Gardens represents an attempt to showcase the diverse plant life of Guadalcanal. Once potentially a thriving attraction, it has suffered from a lack of governmental funding and consistent maintenance. While some trails and plant explanations remain, visitors frequently note the presence of weeds, an empty orchid house, and general disrepair. The gardens are situated within a natural setting, alongside a stream, and offer a peaceful escape, but safety concerns regarding potential robbery and the presence of intoxicated individuals have been raised. Despite its current state, the gardens still hold some natural beauty and offer a chance to experience the local environment.
