The Despic House

The Despić House is a museum-house located in the historic part of Sarajevo, near the Princip Bridge. Originally established in 1881 by the Despić family, prominent merchants, the house provides insight into the lifestyle of a wealthy Serbian Orthodox family during the Austro-Hungarian period. The building itself is notable for its architecture and its historical significance as a venue for early theatrical performances in Sarajevo. Today, it functions as a branch of the Museum of Sarajevo, preserving and exhibiting furniture, artifacts, and details of daily life from different eras.
