The Porthmadog Maritime Museum offers a glimpse into the town's rich seafaring past, particularly its role in transporting slate. Housed in a former slate shed on the harbor, the museum showcases exhibits including photographs, ship models, and artifacts related to shipbuilding and maritime trade. Knowledgeable volunteers provide insights into the area's history and the lives of those involved in the slate industry. The museum aims to preserve and share the stories of Porthmadog's maritime heritage.

The place is so beautiful that I could not take my eyes off it. The place is a heritage building which has stunning architecture and the Victorian style walls are simply amazing. We visited the place on a weekday and it had a lot of people. But things were arranged in a proper way and we could have the tour nicely.
It was a pleasing and an interesting visit to this great museum. They had a huge collection of fascinating artefacts and culturally infused items. I really enjoyed a few parts of it. It is quite big so you might feel a little bored in between. You can skip through whatever doesn't interest you.
