Mt Ampacao

Mt. Ampacao is a popular hiking destination near Sagada, Philippines. The trek typically takes between 1.5 to 3 hours, beginning near Ambasing Elementary School. The trail winds through pine forests and meadows, eventually leading to a summit offering views of both Sagada and Besao. While not overly challenging, some sections can be slippery, particularly after rain. A guide is recommended, especially for those intending to traverse to Lake Danum, as the path can be difficult to find. The summit itself may not be the most scenic spot, with the meadow area offering better views.
