Khumbeshwar Temple

Khumbeshwar Temple, located north of Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur, Nepal, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest temples in Patan, dating back to 1400. It is renowned as one of the two five-story pagoda temples in Nepal, alongside Nyatapola Temple in Bhaktapur. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple features impressive woodcarvings and is a prominent place of worship, particularly during special religious days. The temple complex includes ponds believed to be fed by the sacred Gosaikunda lake. While slightly damaged by the 2015 earthquake, it remains a captivating example of Newari architecture and a vital part of the local religious landscape.
