The Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, housed in a former church building dating back to 1917, preserves and exhibits the history of the Gulf beaches of St. Petersburg, Florida. Founded in 1993, the museum features artifacts, photographs, and documents spanning from the early 1900s to the present day, including exhibits on local flora and fauna, war memorabilia, and the area's development. It was saved from demolition by Joan Haley, a preservationist who bequeathed the property to Pinellas County for use as a museum. The museum relies on dedicated volunteers for its operation and maintenance.
