Kinichna is a Mayan archaeological site located approximately 50 kilometers west of Chetumal, along highway 186. The site is dominated by a single, impressive pyramid, offering visitors a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. It's known for its tranquility and lack of crowds, providing a more intimate experience compared to larger, more popular Mayan ruins. Access involves a bumpy road, but the journey is rewarded with a unique and relatively untouched piece of Mayan history. Entry is often included with a ticket to nearby Dzibanche.
