Mexcaltitan is a historic island town located in the municipality of Tecuala, Nayarit, Mexico. Often referred to as the 'Venice of Mexico,' it's situated in the Marismas Nacionales, a vast network of mangroves and waterways. The town is accessible primarily by boat and offers a look at a slower pace of life, centered around fishing and local culture. While efforts are underway to promote tourism in the Nayarit region, Mexcaltitan currently lacks extensive amenities and developed attractions, presenting a more authentic, albeit rustic, experience.
