Machir Beach

Machir Beach is a large, expansive sandy beach located on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Known for its dramatic scenery and relatively secluded atmosphere, it offers stunning views of the North Atlantic. The beach is characterized by fine, white sand and clear, blue-green waters. While the water temperature is cool, averaging around 62°F (16.7°C), and the air temperature around 15°C (59°F), the beach is popular for long walks and observing wildlife. It's important to note that the currents are dangerous, making swimming inadvisable. The beach is easily accessible via a track near Kilchoman Distillery, with parking available and a short walk over the dunes.
