The Greenock Yellow House gained local and some wider attention due to a disagreement with the Inverclyde Council regarding its vibrant yellow exterior. Originally white, the owners painted the house yellow, which sparked debate and ultimately legal proceedings due to conservation area regulations. The council requested the owners revert to a more traditional color scheme, and the house was subsequently repainted white. While the yellow facade is no longer present, the house remains a point of discussion and a symbol of local planning disputes. It is situated on the picturesque Esplanade, a prominent waterfront promenade.
