Morton Castle

Morton Castle is an 11th-century ruin situated on a small hill overlooking a loch and surrounded by native woodland. Access requires navigating single-track roads, and parking is limited to roadside spaces. While the castle itself is primarily an outer wall ruin, the location is celebrated for its tranquility, natural beauty, and opportunities for wildlife spotting. It served as a filming location for the 1978 version of 'The 39 Steps'. The site is relatively undiscovered, offering a peaceful experience away from crowds.
