Royal Victoria Place is a large shopping centre located in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. It features a range of retail outlets, including department stores like Fenwick and Marks & Spencer, alongside popular high street brands. The centre also provides a selection of food and beverage options, though these have been noted as somewhat limited. While once a thriving destination, the centre has faced challenges with shop closures and a perceived decline in overall quality, leading to concerns about its future. Redevelopment plans are under discussion, aiming to revitalize the space and attract more businesses.
Royal Victoria Place is best suited for shoppers looking for a convenient, central location with a variety of high street brands. It may also appeal to families with young children due to the soft play area.
Avoid peak holiday seasons for a more relaxed experience.
Weekdays are typically quieter than weekends. Weekdays mornings or early afternoons are generally less crowded.
The centre offers accessibility features such as lifts and escalators, but some visitors report issues with lift maintenance and slow speeds. Wheelchair users and those with mobility issues may find navigating the centre challenging. Accessible restrooms are available.
The centre provides stroller access, though navigating crowded areas can be difficult. There is a soft play area available. Restroom facilities include baby changing areas.
Pets are generally not allowed inside the shopping centre, except for assistance animals.
The centre has a food court with fast-food options like McDonald's and Subway. There are also several cafes and restaurants within the centre and in the surrounding town. However, the food court has been described as tired and lacking variety.
We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.

It is a great place to stay and gives you much luxury and comfort at a great price. The service is great and the management was very prompt and was very helpful and assisted us with everything. The rooms were big and spacious, well maintained and the views from the window of the city skyline was just stunning. Loved my experience here!
