About About the place

The Kent Museum of Freemasonry, located near Canterbury's Westgate Towers, offers visitors a comprehensive look into the history and traditions of Freemasonry, specifically within the county of Kent. The museum displays a collection of Masonic artifacts, regalia, and historical documents, providing insight into the organization's charitable work, rituals, and evolution. Staffed largely by knowledgeable volunteers, many of whom are Freemasons themselves, the museum aims to dispel common myths and offer an accessible understanding of this often-misunderstood society. The museum is free to enter, relying on donations for upkeep and expansion.

It was a pleasing and an interesting visit to this great museum. They had a huge collection of fascinating artefacts and culturally infused items. I really enjoyed a few parts of it. It is quite big so you might feel a little bored in between. You can skip through whatever doesn't interest you.

The trip to this place has been an emotional and a moving experience. The collection displayed and the stories behind it leaves you with a lump in your throat and makes you understand the sad history which people had to go through.

We made a stop on our road trip to the city and found this nice green getaway which is worth roaming around for an hour appreciating the amazing and stunning views and the pretty flower bed which is spread all across this green belt. The place is well maintained and looks really beautiful in the full blossom season.. The museum is huge and has a vast variety of paintings and artwork which is worth an hour or two where you can roam around and appreciate the art but after that you will get bored if you are not someone who comes from the art background. Go check it out for the amazing artists whose work is displayed but make sure you pick and choose your favorite and visit those sections.
