The Tangalle Lighthouse, as it is commonly known, is not a functioning lighthouse but a monument dedicated to the Sri Lankan Navy. Built on the location of a previous lighthouse, the structure allows visitors to climb to the top for panoramic views of the coastline. Inside, the walls are adorned with paintings depicting the history of Sri Lanka, often portraying challenging periods. Visitors are required to remove their shoes before entering. The site is free to enter and provides a brief but insightful experience.
