Sathmahal Prasada is a distinctive ancient structure located within the sacred Quadrangle of Polonnaruwa. Believed to be a stupa, it deviates from the typical domed shape found in Sri Lanka, instead presenting as a seven-tiered pyramid. Its architectural style suggests influences from Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and Cambodia, making it a curiosity among the more conventional ruins in the area. While the structure is in a state of disrepair, with exposed brickwork, it remains a visually interesting site for visitors.
The place is so beautiful that I could not take my eyes off it. The place is a heritage building which has stunning architecture and the Victorian style walls are simply amazing. We visited the place on a weekday and it had a lot of people. But things were arranged in a proper way and we could have the tour nicely.. This is one of the most iconic and important places in the city. The history and the beauty associated with it is incredible. We decided to take a guide in order to understand the facts better. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
This is an amazing place and a must see for all the visitors. It is adorned with beautiful interiors and historic walls. The stories of the past of this building are incredible and the view is just awesome.
