Kiri Vehera, meaning 'Milk Stupa' due to its white hue, is the second largest stupa within the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Constructed by Queen Subadra, consort of King Parakramabahu I, it stands as a testament to the region's rich Buddhist heritage. The stupa is notable for retaining much of its original lime plaster, a rarity among Polonnaruwa's ancient structures. Situated near the Lankathilaka Vihara, it offers a striking visual contrast and a serene atmosphere for contemplation. Its 24.5m height makes it an impressive landmark within the archaeological complex, and it continues to be a functioning place of worship.
It is the most beautiful building I witnessed which is architecturally detailed. The building structure was royal and the building exhibits a regal vibe to it. Visiting this place was an amazing experience and the place is truly a stunning place.
This is a must visit place in the city and it is beautiful. The place is centrally located and you can easily reach it. The stories and the facts of this place are very interesting and make way for an entertaining tour.
There was nothing special about this speciality hotel and it was such a disappointment. The place was literally in ruins and it pinches me to see all my money goes to waste. The rooms were really dirty and unkept and the service was pathetic. I wont recommend this to anyone and it was the worst experience.
This is one of the most iconic and interesting buildings of the city where the architecture of this place speaks volume of its importance. It is a great place to visit and its tour throws some light on the history and working of this place.
