The Metropol Parasol, locally known as Las Setas (the mushrooms), is a striking and controversial wooden structure in the heart of Seville. Completed in 2011, it stands as a modern contrast to the city’s historic architecture. Visitors can ascend to elevated walkways via elevator for panoramic views of Seville, particularly beautiful at sunset. The structure also houses a traditional food market at its base and provides access to Roman ruins discovered during its construction. While its design divides opinion, it has become a popular attraction offering a unique perspective on the city.
