Ojukheon Municipal Museum

Ojukheon Municipal Museum is a historically significant site in Gangneung, South Korea, renowned as the birthplace of Shin Saimdang, a celebrated artist, poet, and calligrapher, and Yi I, a prominent Confucian scholar and politician. The complex comprises well-preserved traditional Korean houses (hanok) and beautiful gardens, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of these influential figures. The museum also features exhibits detailing their contributions to Korean culture and their connection to the imagery on Korean currency – Shin Saimdang on the 50,000 won note and Yi I on the 5,000 won note.
