Constitution Hill in Johannesburg stands as a poignant reminder of South Africa’s past and a beacon of its democratic future. Built on the site of a former fort and prison, it once held prominent figures like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi. Today, it houses the Constitutional Court, creating a striking contrast between the oppression of apartheid and the principles of justice and equality. The site offers guided tours that delve into the harrowing stories of those imprisoned and the symbolism embedded within the architecture. It is considered an essential destination for understanding South Africa’s complex history and inspiring progress.
I did an 11 day tour in Iceland and it was awesome. The place is nothing I have ever seen and it was one of the best trips of my life. I went in June and the weather was great and clear. I visited all the main attractions and did some hiking and everything about this city seemed perfect. The best part was seeing the northern lights and being mesmerized by them. This place is definitely worth visiting.
