Studenci Footbridge

The Studenci Footbridge is a contemporary pedestrian crossing in Slovenia, linking the Studenci and Lent districts of Maribor. The current structure, completed in 2008, replaced earlier iterations dating back to the 19th century. It garnered international recognition, receiving the International Footbridge Award in 2008. Beyond its architectural merit, the bridge is a popular location for locals to congregate and enjoy walks along the riverbanks. A charming aspect of the bridge is the presence of a swan family nesting nearby, adding to its scenic appeal. Historically, the bridge's predecessors were known for a quirky tradition of 'bridge tolls' collected by locals.
