The Monument to Catherine the Great in Noginsk commemorates the Empress's decree to rename the village of Rogozha to Bogorodsk, which later became Noginsk. The monument consists of a tall column topped with a gilded statue of Catherine, and a quadrangular pedestal adorned with bas-reliefs depicting prominent figures from the city's history – three on each side. Visitors note the statue's disproportionate size relative to the column's height, and its somewhat awkward placement within a small green square near the Lenin monument.
