Ratti Gali Lake

Ratti Gali Lake is a high-altitude glacial lake situated in the Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, at an elevation of 3700 meters (12,130 feet). The lake is framed by glaciers throughout much of the year, which serve as its primary water source. Access to the base camp is typically possible from early August to mid-October. Visitors can stay in Keran or Dewarin, or at the base camp itself, utilizing available camping facilities or bringing their own. The journey involves a 2.5-hour 4x4 drive from Keran to the base camp, followed by either a one-hour hike or a 25-minute horse ride to the lake. The area offers basic amenities at the base camp, including food, water, and restrooms, though cleanliness can be a concern. The lake itself is a haven of tranquility, enhanced by wildflowers during certain seasons, and is primarily a destination for sightseeing and enjoying the natural beauty.
