Sunaysilah Fort

Sunaysilah Fort, located in the historic trading port of Sur, Oman, is a fortified structure situated on a hilltop. Originally built as an observation keep in the 6th century AD, it has undergone restoration. While often referred to as a castle, it's more accurately described as a fortified building. The fort features a central courtyard with rooms at each corner and offers views of Sur and the surrounding area. Visitors note that access can be intermittent, and the level of historical information provided is limited. Despite this, it remains a popular spot for photography and a brief excursion.
