The Partisan Monument Gorica, erected in 1957, serves as a tribute to the 97 People's heroes of Montenegro who perished fighting against Italian and German fascism during World War II. Located on Gorica hill, the monument stands within the expansive Gorica park, offering a space for reflection and remembrance. Podgorica itself experienced significant damage during the war due to Allied bombardments, requested by Tito's Partisan army, resulting in over 4000 Montenegrin civilian deaths. The monument features two prominent soldier statues and star-shaped elements reminiscent of the Ataturk Mausoleum. Visitors can also enjoy the park's walking paths and a recently opened coffee shop nearby.
