The Sette Giugno Monument is a striking black statue located at the entrance of St. George's Square from Republic Street. It memorializes the events of June 7th, 1919, when British troops fired on Maltese protestors, resulting in fatalities. The sculpture depicts six figures: two standing defiantly and four representing those wounded or in mourning. It serves as a poignant reminder of Malta's struggle for self-governance and is a significant landmark within Valletta.
