The Church of the Apostles in Madaba, Jordan, is primarily known for its extensive and well-preserved mosaic floor dating back to the 6th century AD. While the church structure itself is relatively simple, with a newer roof and walls, the mosaic remains the central attraction. The mosaics depict a variety of scenes, including flora, fauna, and mythological figures, notably the personification of the sea goddess Thalassa. Visitors often note the caretaker's willingness to enhance the mosaic's colors by lightly spraying them with water. The site is a significant archaeological destination for those interested in Byzantine and early Christian art.
We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.
It is a great place to stay and gives you much luxury and comfort at a great price. The service is great and the management was very prompt and was very helpful and assisted us with everything. The rooms were big and spacious, well maintained and the views from the window of the city skyline was just stunning. Loved my experience here!
This is an amazing place and a must see for all the visitors. It is adorned with beautiful interiors and historic walls. The stories of the past of this building are incredible and the view is just awesome.
