Yufuin is a small town located in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, celebrated for its abundance of onsen (hot springs). The area offers a tranquil escape with a blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and a touch of European influence in its architecture. Visitors can enjoy a variety of onsen experiences, from public foot baths to private inns, alongside scenic walks, local cuisine, and boutique shopping. The town is particularly appealing during the winter months when the hot springs provide a welcome respite from the cold. While easily accessible from nearby Beppu, Yufuin possesses a unique character that distinguishes it as a destination in its own right.
We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.
The cave is one of the major highlights of this place and once we were inside the cave, it was above and beyond our expectations. The views are stunning and we were lucky to see the heavens light from far. The weather inside can be a little humid but the beauty of it makes it worth it. Must visit place.
