La Necropoli di Anghelu Ruju is a significant archaeological site in Sardinia, showcasing a collection of over 30 'domus de janas' – artificial caves carved into the limestone rock. These tombs served as burial sites for prehistoric communities, with evidence suggesting usage spanning from the Neolithic to the Copper Age (approximately 3000-2000 BC). The site's preservation allows visitors to explore the chambers and observe remnants of ancient burial practices. While artifacts have been moved to museums, the site itself provides a tangible connection to Sardinia's distant past. It is often visited in conjunction with the nearby Nuraghe di Palmaceta.
We went to this amazing place and loved the view and the scenery. The place was really crowded as it is one of the most famous tourist attractions but you need to look out for pickpockets here because apparently a lot can happen here if you dont pay much attention.
The cafe is a little place situated in the middle of the buzzing market of the city and is a cute little place with a really warm ambience and very nice and friendly people and staff. The food was great and had a lot of amazing local flavors. It was totally worth the visit and we really enjoyed the food and hospitality.
