Piazza Motta is the vibrant heart of Orta San Giulio, a charming medieval town on the shores of Lake Orta. This picturesque square serves as a central hub for both locals and tourists, offering stunning views of the lake and Isola San Giulio. Lined with restaurants, cafes, shops, and the town hall, it's a lively space, particularly bustling during the summer months and on weekends. While the square can become crowded, it generally maintains a relaxed atmosphere. The decaying Hotel Orta is a notable, though unfortunate, feature of the square's surroundings. It's a convenient departure point for boat trips to the island and a perfect location for people-watching and enjoying the Italian lakeside ambiance.
The hotel is located at the center of the island and is spread on a huge ground. All the main attractions of the island are very conveniently located and few are at the walking distance, which is a great plus. The place is very beautiful and the hotel offers so many luxurious amenities that it makes up for a perfect vacation.
This is an amazing place and a must see for all the visitors. It is adorned with beautiful interiors and historic walls. The stories of the past of this building are incredible and the view is just awesome.
