The Tempietto di Sant'Emidio alle Grotte is a significant religious site in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Originally a temple housing the remains of Saint Emidio before their relocation to the Cathedral, the grotto is now a peaceful and historically rich destination. It's known for its unique construction built into the mountainside and its role as a dormitory for pilgrims traveling the Camino de Santiago. Access requires contacting a local guide, often available through the adjacent office, who provides informative tours for a small donation. The site offers a video presentation with more comprehensive details.
The cathedral is hundreds of years old and has a magnificent architecture. The murals and the walls are simply stunning. We got a chance to witness the prayer ceremony and it was divine. Do visit this place and do enjoy it.
