Al-Rahman mosque

The Al-Rahman mosque is a large, incomplete structure located in the Almansour district of Baghdad. Construction began under Saddam Hussein, with initial intentions for it to serve as his mausoleum rather than a traditional mosque. Work ceased in 2003, and the building has remained in a state of disrepair, with some areas occupied by squatters. Despite its unfinished state, the mosque's scale and design are notable, and there is ongoing discussion about its potential completion and repurposing. It occupies a significant area and is a prominent landmark in the city.
