Outram Ghat, situated on the banks of the Hooghly River near Eden Gardens, is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Named after Sir James Outram, it provides a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying the river Ganga and the iconic Vidyasagar Setu bridge. While not a traditional Indian ghat with bathing steps, it has undergone beautification efforts with walkways and seating arrangements. Street food stalls and boating facilities add to the appeal, making it a pleasant spot for an evening stroll or a serene boat ride.
It is a great place to stay and gives you much luxury and comfort at a great price. The service is great and the management was very prompt and was very helpful and assisted us with everything. The rooms were big and spacious, well maintained and the views from the window of the city skyline was just stunning. Loved my experience here!
We booked a tour package and thought that this would be a good way to see all the major sites of the city but it turned out to be nothing great. The tour bus stopped at all places but had not much time to make us roam around the area. Seemed like they were in a rush all the time and were not good with the local knowledge and culture. It was also expensive, which was not a great thing.
This is a must visit place in the city and it is beautiful. The place is centrally located and you can easily reach it. The stories and the facts of this place are very interesting and make way for an entertaining tour.
