The Writers' Building is a landmark structure in Kolkata, steeped in history. Originally constructed in 1770 to house the office of the writers (clerks) of the British East India Company, it served as the administrative center during British rule and later as the seat of the West Bengal Government until 2013. Designed by Thomas Lyon in 1777, the building is a red-colored, colonial-era structure that reflects the architectural styles of the time. It is currently undergoing extensive renovation, with government offices relocated to Nabanna. Despite being largely inaccessible to the public, its historical significance and imposing facade continue to draw attention.

We visited the place on a weekday and it had a lot of people. But things were arranged in a proper way and we could have the tour nicely.

It is the most beautiful building I witnessed which is architecturally detailed. The building structure was royal and the building exhibits a regal vibe to it. Visiting this place was an amazing experience and the place is truly a stunning place.
Our journey to this place was nothing less than a magnificent memory. This is the most beautiful place I have visited and stayed.
