Vishalakshi Temple is a sacred Hindu temple situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, near the Mir Ghat on the banks of the Ganges River. It is revered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, places where parts of the goddess Sati fell to earth. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Vishalakshi, an aspect of Parvati, and is closely associated with Lord Shiva. Mythology states that one of Sati's eyes (Akshi) and earrings fell at this location. The temple features two idols of the goddess, one older and considered 'swayambhu' (self-manifested), and a newer one installed by Adi Shankaracharya. It is a popular pilgrimage site, often visited after or alongside the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
