Kodiveri Dam is situated on the Bhavani River near Sathyamangalam in Western Tamil Nadu, along State Highway 15. Dating back approximately 350 years, the dam has served as an irrigation source and a scenic location. The name 'Kodiveri' originates from the Tamil word 'kodivari,' meaning tiger. Visitors can enjoy coracle rides, bathing in the river, and sampling locally caught and fried fish. While a beloved spot for locals and families, the area experiences issues with cleanliness and maintenance.
Families, nature lovers, and those seeking a budget-friendly outing. It's particularly appealing to those who enjoy swimming, boating, and trying local cuisine.
Monsoon and summer seasons offer the most water flow, but also attract the largest crowds.
Weekdays are less crowded than weekends. Early morning (9 am - 11 am) is best to avoid crowds and enjoy cooler temperatures.
Accessibility is limited. The terrain is rocky and slippery, particularly near the waterfalls. There are limited facilities for individuals with mobility impairments. Restrooms are often unclean and may not be accessible.
The dam offers opportunities for children to play in the water and enjoy the park area. However, the rocky terrain and lack of safety railings require close supervision. Changing rooms are available, but their cleanliness is questionable.

We had an unforgettable trip while visiting this amazing place. Everything from our stay, to people, hospitality, food, beautiful locations and views...it was just perfect. It was like we were living a dream vacation.
Our journey to this place was nothing less than a magnificent memory. This is the most beautiful place I have visited and stayed. I have never experienced luxury like that and the hospitality was top notch. I am still so grateful for all the people who hosted us and took us on an incredible journey.
