Cotton Alley

Cotton Alley, also known as Cotton Pet or Pantheon Street, is a bustling hub in Chennai renowned for its extensive collection of cotton textiles. The area features numerous shops, many of which are small and unassuming, offering a wide variety of cotton materials ranging from 80 to 300 rupees per meter. While predominantly focused on women's clothing, some shops carry men's wear and upholstery fabrics. Kalamkari designs are a particular specialty. Visitors can find both fabrics for tailoring and ready-made garments, but bargaining is essential to secure the best prices. The area also offers Ikat cottons, handloom fabrics, and synthetic materials.
