Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary

Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary is a significant wildlife reserve located near Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, forming a part of the larger Ranthambore National Park. It is a haven for diverse wildlife, including tigers, leopards, crocodiles, deer, and numerous bird species. The sanctuary's landscape is characterized by rugged terrain, dense forests, and natural waterholes. The presence of the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort adds a historical and cultural dimension to the natural beauty of the area. Villages previously located within the sanctuary have been relocated to enhance the habitat. Safari tours are the primary means of exploring the sanctuary, with Zones 3, 6, 7, and 10 being particularly noted for wildlife sightings.
