Constructed across the Mahanadi River approximately 15 kilometers from Sambalpur, Odisha, it serves vital purposes of flood control, irrigation, and hydroelectric power generation. The surrounding area boasts a vast reservoir, lush greenery, and diverse birdlife, making it a popular destination for families and nature enthusiasts. The dam features observation towers, including the rotating Gandhi Minar, providing panoramic views of the landscape.
This is a beautiful city which is so nice to visit. The location here is stunning and the views are beautiful. The city is blessed with a lot of ancient buildings and historic places which makes this place really beautiful and nice to go around. We really enjoyed this city and will definitely come back again.

He made sure that we know everything about the place and even went above and beyond with showing off things, being hospitable and having a great interaction with. The tour of the place was made awesome only because of his knowledge and kindness.

We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.
If you are a nature lover, then this place is like a must visit for you. It is home to some of the best nature views and the locations and sceneries here are just gorgeous and mesmerizing. I have been a sucker for amazing buildings and this is just it. The architecture was really great and the location was just easily accessible. We took the whole tour and it was just amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the stories and facts as well.. It is a great place to stay and gives you much luxury and comfort at a great price. The service is great and the management was very prompt and was very helpful and assisted us with everything. The rooms were big and spacious, well maintained and the views from the window of the city skyline was just stunning. Loved my experience here!
