Lal Gumbad, located in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, is a historical tomb built in 1397 to honor Sufi saint Sheikh Kabir ud din Aulia, a disciple of Chirag-I-Dilli. While its name suggests a vibrant red color, the structure now appears more blackish due to age and environmental factors. The tomb showcases a blend of architectural styles, featuring red sandstone, marble, lotus bud motifs, and intricate jaali screens. It's a complex that also houses the graves of numerous Sufi saints and followers, reflecting a historical practice of seeking burial near revered figures. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is actively involved in its conservation.
It is a great place to stay and gives you much luxury and comfort at a great price. The service is great and the management was very prompt and was very helpful and assisted us with everything. The rooms were big and spacious, well maintained and the views from the window of the city skyline was just stunning. Loved my experience here!
