Shiva Temple

The Shiva Temple, also known as Vishwanath Temple, is a significant part of the Western Group of Temples in Khajuraho. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is unique as it remains an active place of worship, with regular prayers and a consecrated, massive Shiva linga. Situated between the Kandhariya and Jagdambe Devi temples, it's a relatively smaller structure currently undergoing restoration. The temple showcases remarkable architectural details, including 101 small carvings of shivalingas atop the main linga, and is celebrated for its five-level built-up design when viewed from the side.
