Saraswathy Temple

Saraswathy Temple, also known as Dakshina Mookambikai, is a significant Hindu temple located in Panachikadu, near Kottayam, Kerala. While the main deity is Vishnu, the temple is renowned for its dedication to Goddess Saraswathy, the deity of learning, arts, and wisdom. It is a popular destination for 'vidhyarambham,' the traditional ceremony initiating children into education. The temple is situated amidst lush paddy fields, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The Moola Bimba (main idol) is uniquely covered by creepers, and a small stream flows nearby. It is particularly crowded during Navratri, with special transport arrangements made for devotees.
