The Folklore Museum in Mysore is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the cultural traditions of Karnataka. Established by P.R. Thippeswamy, Javeregowda, and Jeesham Paramashivaiah, students of Kuvempu, the museum is located within the Manasagangotri campus of Mysore University. Its collection comprises over 6,500 artifacts, including costumes, dolls, handicrafts, and everyday objects, offering a glimpse into the state's vibrant folklore. While the collection is extensive, the museum often faces challenges with maintenance and presentation, impacting the visitor experience.
This is a marvellous place and has many things to see. We took a road trip to see this place and the journey was also great. The views along the way are stunning and fill your heart with all the warmth. Once you reach there, you simply forget everything else and enjoy the scenic views and appreciate the beauty all around.
This is a must visit place in the city and it is beautiful. The place is centrally located and you can easily reach it. The stories and the facts of this place are very interesting and make way for an entertaining tour.
Our journey to this place was nothing less than a magnificent memory. This is the most beautiful place I have visited and stayed. I have never experienced luxury like that and the hospitality was top notch. I am still so grateful for all the people who hosted us and took us on an incredible journey.
Me and my family were so excited to visit this place but it was a huge disappointment. The place was in ruins and it was not managed or kept. It was untidy and in really bad shape. We were not even able to stay long enough to take the whole tour. It was really the worst experience of our lives. Dont visit here!!. We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.
Let others know your experience here.
