Dhilon Pond is situated in the Kathkai Valley of Shimla, offering a peaceful retreat for those who appreciate natural surroundings. The pond is known for its potential to observe rare bird species, making it a draw for birdwatchers. However, it's noted that the area is not consistently well-maintained, and the overall experience is limited in terms of activities and attractions. It's generally considered a quick stop rather than a full-day destination.
We booked a tour package and thought that this would be a good way to see all the major sites of the city but it turned out to be nothing great. The tour bus stopped at all places but had not much time to make us roam around the area. Seemed like they were in a rush all the time and were not good with the local knowledge and culture. It was also expensive, which was not a great thing.
