Prospect Hill is one of Shimla's seven hills, situated approximately 5 kilometers from the town center. It's known for its spectacular views, particularly at sunset, and the Kamna Devi Temple, a significant religious site. The hill is accessible via a steep 15-minute climb or a 5km walk from Shimla, offering a refreshing experience for those who enjoy walking. Basic food options are available, but visitors should not expect high-end amenities. Carrying a walking stick is recommended for both navigating the terrain and deterring monkeys.
We booked a tour package and thought that this would be a good way to see all the major sites of the city but it turned out to be nothing great. The tour bus stopped at all places but had not much time to make us roam around the area. Seemed like they were in a rush all the time and were not good with the local knowledge and culture. It was also expensive, which was not a great thing.
This is an amazing place and a must see for all the visitors. It is adorned with beautiful interiors and historic walls. The stories of the past of this building are incredible and the view is just awesome.
