Our Lady of Monte Chapel is a quaint, historic chapel situated atop a hill in Old Goa. Originally built in 1510 following a defeat by Adil Shah, it commemorates a retreat by Afonso D’Albuquerque. While not grand in scale, the chapel is known for its serene atmosphere, well-maintained structure, and stunning views. It serves as a viewpoint overlooking the Mandovi River, the town, and the Church of St. Augustine's tower. The chapel is also used annually for a music festival, adding to its cultural significance. Its history is somewhat debated, with the unusual timing of its construction – nine years after a significant defeat – sparking curiosity.
This is an excellent restaurant which is the new opening in the town and also the talk of the town. The delicacies prepared here are awesome and delicious. The chefs have all come from outside and serve the best of gourmet food. It was exotic and tasty array of food and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Just awesome!!
