Travellers Favorite
Buda Castle is a sprawling historical complex overlooking Budapest and the Danube River. Originally a medieval castle, it evolved into a Baroque palace and now primarily houses museums, including the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum. Heavily damaged during WWII, the castle has been largely rebuilt, though its exterior and surrounding grounds retain a majestic presence. Visitors can reach the castle via funicular, bus, or a scenic walk, and the surrounding Castle District offers charming streets, shops, and restaurants. The castle is particularly stunning when illuminated at night.
