The Gradierwerk Bad Durkheim is a remarkable 200-meter long and 18-meter high wooden structure originally built in the 19th century. Its purpose is to increase air salinity by dripping brine over a vast surface of blackthorn twigs, creating a therapeutic atmosphere reminiscent of the seaside. The structure has been rebuilt after fires and stands as the largest of its kind. Visitors can walk alongside the building, enjoying the fresh air, scenic views of the vineyards, and a peaceful park setting. A scale model demonstrates the brine pumping system.
We were planning for this vacation for a long time and it was really wonderful. Visiting these amazing places was a unique experience and we could make a day out of it enjoying and having interesting conversations with the locals. The people were really hospitable and warm and made sure we don't feel left out.
It is one of the most famous sites and a must visit as it is simply amazing. Me and my family had a wonderful time here and the views were simply stunning. Loved it and definitely recommend it to others.
If you are taking this beaten path, I promise you that you wont regret it. The views along the way are well worth the stop and the stunning locations you see in between your hike are simply beautiful. This place would definitely wont disappoint you and the hike also offers amazing places to eat local delicacies. It was so good to travel here. Loved the experience.
While making our itinerary, we included this place towards the end and thought that incase we are behind time, we will skip it. But thank God, we didnt because it was one of the greatest places to visit. Easily accessible, conveniently located, gorgeous location and the easy navigation for the entire tour of this place made it much more fun and enjoyable. I will suggest everyone to please visit this place.
